My day started at 5:30 a.m. today. I got up and ate some Kellogg’s cereal. It was still dark outside and I was the only one up. Kind of scary. Then I dressed myself for the day and met at the church at 6:50. Some staff from the church and the 3ELEVEN group went to a leadership and preaching lab in broken arrow. On the way it was lots of fun. I got to talk to everyone and get to know the children’s pastor at The Bridge better. We had got to the church in Broken Arrow late. We walked in when the first session was getting over. We had three sessions about leadership before lunch, a class we got to choose during lunch, and three sessions about preaching after lunch. In the second session about leadership, my eyes became really heavy and I felt so tired, but the tired session Bryan Jarrett spoke and it was amazing! When we broke for lunch, Timothy and I went to the children’s ministry class. Their children’s pastor is phenomenal and the Kid area was so cool. They had huge retro toys displayed, such as an etch-a-sketch, a top, legos, and more. I learned a lot form that class and I am looking forward to working with the kids at The Bridge now. The sessions over preaching were very interesting. All three speakers did an amazing job; Ron Woods (Pastor at The Assembly in Broken Arrow), Dr. Mark Rutland (President of Oral Roberts University), and Bryan Jarrett (Pastor at North Place Church in Sachse, TX). On the way back to Mustang I took a nap but I woke up when we were in OKC. When I woke up, the Jr. High Pastor started giving me a hard time about being from Jones and was making fun of me a lot. But it was all cool and I enjoyed in.
When us girls got back to the house around 5:30 p.m. we all ate dinner and took a little nap because we were so tired.
At 7:30 we had to be at Travis and Rachel’s house for a college age cell group type thing. They only live 3 blocks from us so we all walked there. Travis spoke about Dangerous Prayers; God, Use Me; God, Break Me; God, Disturb Me. It was cool to hang out with everyone but after that we were tired so we headed back to the house.
Today has been a really amazing day. Can’t wait to see what the next 10 months will be like. We have orientation at 9 a.m. tomorrow so I should probably go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be another long and wonderful day!
Night to all.
