My First Sunday @ The Bridge. 8.30.09

So today was my first service at The Bridge. The Service was amazing. The main thing that caught my eye was the worship. They had so many instrument and they all sounded so beautiful together. I was just in awe today at service. I really liked Jim McNabb’s speaking. He spoke about compassion and how we need to look at things through the eyes of Jesus instead of looking at things at people with eyes of the world.
After service I felt a little weird being there because I didn’t know anyone and I could not go around and talk to everyone like I did at JAG (My JAG family, I really missed you guys this morning). Hopefully I will start coming around and talking to people and being the Julia that I was at JAG.
I ate lunch with my mom today and it was good. After lunch I just set in my new bedroom just praising God for the wonderful things to come. I got ready for evening service and right before I walked out to leave I got a drink of tea and spelt it down my shirt so I had to go change fast.
When I got to the church I got so scared. I did not know where to go, where to sit, and I could not find anyone that I kind of knew. Finely I found Rachel and she let me sit by her. I was so amazed at the worship. Pastor McNabb spoke on Generational Curses tonight.
After service I felt very sad. I started to miss JAG a lot. They invited me to Chili’s and I really didn’t want to go cause I really don’t know anyone but then all the 3ELEVEN students were going so it seemed like I had too. I went and some of my JAG friends started text me and really touching my heart and I wanted to cry in Chili’s but what they said also made me feel better. I went to Wal-Mart afterwards to get me some food for the house and I just walked around Wal-Mart thinking about how I have not been myself in the last two days and that I really need to start talking to people. On my way home I called my best friend and I started to cry to her and tell her how everything is so different and how I miss being at JAG so much. When I got back to the house I started to talk to Niccole and Whitney and they made me feel better about being here.
Tomorrow we are meting at the church at 6:50 am and go to Broken Arrow. Hopefully I get to really meet everyone and have a fun time. 12:02 am… time to go to bed. Night!

Here are some notes form tonight:

What is a Curses?
the expression of a wish that misfortune, evil, doom, etc., befall a person, group, etc.

Galatians 3:13-14
13 But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” 14 Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised[
b] Holy Spirit through faith.v

Matthew 18:21-35
21 Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone[
a] who sins against me? Seven times?” 22 “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven! 23 “Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. 24 In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars.[c] 25 He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt. 26 “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ 27 Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt. 28 “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment. 29 “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. 30 But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full. 31 “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. 32 Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ 34 Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt. 35 “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.”

These are access ways the devil/evil can get a foothold on us.

Romans 6:16 (SIN)
16 Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

Psalms 23:4 (FEAR)
4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Psalms 109:20-22 (HURT & TRAUMA)
20 May those curses become the Lord’s punishment for my accusers who speak evil of me. 21 But deal well with me, O Sovereign Lord, for the sake of your own reputation! Rescue me because you are so faithful and good. 22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is full of pain.

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (CULTS)
10 For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft, 11 or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.

2 Chronicles 33:6 (WHITCHCAFT)
6 Manasseh also sacrificed his own sons in the fire[
a] in the valley of Ben-Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing his anger.

Matthew 5:33-37 (VOWS & SWEARING)
33 “You have also heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you make to the Lord.’[
a] 34 But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. 35 And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is his footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. 36 Do not even say, ‘By my head!’ for you can’t turn one hair white or black. 37 Just say a simple, ‘Yes, I will,’ or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.
